The SSD uses proven AerWay technology for conditioning the soil:

The benefits of the tine action in the soil are:
- substantial odor reductions and
- reduced risk of runoff
The AerWay SSD design uses 4 nozzles to distribute the same volume as only 1 shank on a typical injector. This managed volume is placed in the active root zone and can substantially reduce any risk of ground water contamination.
The precise 7 ½" nozzle spacing places the liquid in bands directly in the tine path from as low as 2" to as high as 10" above the soil surface.
This placement not only minimizes slurry exposure to the atmosphere and wind, but allows it to be applied under the canopy of the cover crop to eliminate contamination or burning
SSD's are available in front and rear discharge configurations.
SSD State-of-the-art Distributor
The SSD utilizes a rotating nozzle distributor, which has the capability to process up to 1000 gallons per minute.
Typically, the rotor head is turning at 300 RPM, pulsing approximately one-tenth of a gallon of slurry into each outlet at each pass.
The benefits of this are two fold:
- The short pulses are driven by the full force of the supply source to reduce the possibility of plugging.
- Each outlet receives an equal pulse of slurry resulting in unsurpassed evenness of distribution across the full width of the SSD.
The distributor is fitted with a chopper in the distribution head to facilitate the flow of heavier slurries. The long life cutting blades ensure that even the most fibrous materials are distributed with ease.
The SSD can be used with either tank or dragline application. It is available as a kit to retrofit existing AerWay equipment. The SSD is available in 10', 12', 15', 20' * and 30' ** widths.
